This group of vegetables tend to be quite difficult to keep clear of weed. The generally do not grow aggressively and do not offer shade to competing weeds. For this reason we have specialised machinery that cultivates the rows to kill weeds inbetween the plants. This is best done on hot summer days when a little disturbance of the weeds roots is enough to finish it off.
